Repair planning guide
Preparing a Nova Scotia repair request
The current city guide is Halifax. Add the exact community, street and vehicle entrance so the provider can distinguish the truck’s location from a general Halifax-area description. A marketplace guide does not mean every location in Nova Scotia has an available mechanic.
Access, timing and road information
If a load has a terminal appointment or another time constraint, include it as context for scheduling. Ask the provider to confirm access and the realistic service window. Keep using Nova Scotia 511 for current road information and your dispatcher for transport planning.
Open Nova Scotia 511 for the latest information. A road-information service is separate from TrukN and does not confirm mechanic availability.
Choose the type of visit
Urgent breakdown
Explain what happened, whether the truck is safely parked and whether people or traffic are at risk. Contact emergency services for immediate danger. A request remains awaiting match until an eligible provider accepts; do not treat the form confirmation as an arrival commitment.
Scheduled yard work
Provide the preferred date, access hours and the unit’s planned location. Identify any restrictions on work at the site. The provider confirms the scope, parts and schedule; submitting a preferred time does not book an appointment.
Before approving the estimate
- Is travel or a call-out minimum included, and is diagnostic time separate?
- Which parts and labour are included in the written estimate?
- Who can approve additional work if the assessment changes?
- What arrival window has the provider actually confirmed?
- What completion record and provider warranty terms will be supplied?
